The Power of Collaboration
Working together, we create greater impact
What is Collective Impact?
While the term Collective Impact originally had a more specific process definition, we use the term to define an approach in which multiple organizations and stakeholders work together on a complex issue, find common ground around a narrow set of goals, and advance actionable solutions collectively to have the greatest impact.
New Jersey Future’s Role
New Jersey Future leads, supports, and participates in collaboratives that exemplify the power of collective action. For collaboratives to be successful, they typically require a dedicated staff or organization to facilitate activities on a regular basis. This function is referred to as the “backbone”. New Jersey Future plays the backbone role for the following collaboratives: Jersey Water Works, Lead-Free NJ, Sewage-Free Streets and Rivers, and Great Homes and Neighborhoods for All. In this role, NJF staff coordinate daily operations, helping each collaborative achieve its shared goals.
