Prior to joining GSHNJ, Tenisha Malcolm-Wint formerly served as the Director of the Urban Mayors Policy Center at the John S. Watson Institute for Urban Policy and Research at Kean University. In this role, she supported the Institute’s efforts to assist the New Jersey Urban Mayors Association (NJUMA) member mayors in finding solutions to the challenges facing urban municipalities.
Before joining the Watson Institute, Malcolm-Wint worked with several national and community-based nonprofits, where she directed large-scale innovative programs, fundraising initiatives, and strategic development projects. Among her many distinguished accomplishments, she volunteers as a board member for various causes and nonprofits, including New Jersey Future, Urban Agriculture Cooperative, Boys & Girls Club of Union County, Outdoor Equity Alliance, National Association of Double Dutch Organizations, and New Jersey School of Conservation.
Malcolm-Wint currently leads a consulting firm that provides a suite of services, including community development, program design and evaluation, fundraising, and strategic planning. Supporting community growth and innovation drives her professionally.
Tenisha graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Bloomfield College and is currently pursuing her Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Nonprofit Leadership at Kean University. Malcolm-Wint has earned a Professional Certificate in Creative Placemaking from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Malcolm-Wint finds her greatest joy leading hikes with Outdoors On Purpose, a hiking community she established to encourage Black and Brown individuals to find respite and joy in nature.
