New Jersey Future Supports A1093, Which Would Require Updates to the Shore Protection Master Plan
TRENTON, May 17, 2018 — New Jersey Future supports Assembly Bill A1093, which would require the Department of Environmental Protection to update the New Jersey Shore Protection Master Plan.
An equivalent bill in the Senate, S1333, passed out of the Environment and Energy Committee on May 10, with several of the amendments New Jersey Future and other groups had suggested. It heads next to the Budget and Appropriations Committee. The Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee will consider A1093 later today.
“We are pleased to see that ensuring the safety of people and property along our Shore is a priority for the state Legislature, and that a key requirement to incorporate science-based sea-level rise projections into analysis, planning, and funding has been included,” said New Jersey Future planning manager David Kutner.
